i went to granite citadel to check out the 15k ascention armour that everyone is banging on about and it turns out it has 10 points less of an armour class than the one available at droknars forge (60 ar instead of 70 though it does have a +15 against piercing attacks)

my question is with the 60 ar and +15 against piercing is 15k ascention armour actually worse/bettter that the necro armour at droknars (70 ar)?

10al against elemental attacks is significant especially in PvP. If you get it, I would guess you are getting it for the "cool factor".

The necrotic armor (70 AL) has a weakness- you take extra (maybe double) damage from Holy damage.

Some people prefer a standard (60 AL) set of armor with a bonus against a common damage type more than a higher base armor (70 AL) with a weakness against a somewhat uncommon damage type.

But really, the 15k armors are really about looking good, paying a lot of money, and letting everyone know you paid a lot. Hooray for money sinks.

I ended up buying the 15k Elementalist Tunic. It's stats are identical to my old armor, but I'm not looking like a clone anymore..
